If You’re Proud Of What You Did, Why Not Tell Everyone?

The following is a short video from Hillary Clinton’s 11 hour testimony before the highly partisan Benghazi Committee. She did not invoke all sorts of tricks to avoid testifying (3 minutes)

Something I can’t figure out is why the defeated president and his minions from Bannon and Roger Stone on down to the supposed local heroes who went to the nation’s capitol and armed themselves with a confederate flag to ‘fight for freedom’ are so reluctant to go before any group to brag about what they did?

Such folks as Bannon, members of the Trump family and advisors such as General Flynn and others have proudly been claiming they are the only people telling the truth with their claims of a rigged election. These folks will be given an opportunity to tell their side of the story before America’s most powerful people probably in front of one of America’s largest audiences on television and the internet.

If what they speak of is true what do they have to fear? If what they say is true, then evidence with documentation should be relatively easy to gather and present. Why not grab the chance to present ‘the truth’ to millions of Americans all at once and show how truthful their story is by answering questions that millions of Americans want answers to?

What are they afraid of? Our system was built with the opportunity for both sides of an issue to get their story out. Why is the side that is claiming that they are the victims of the greatest cover up in history refusing to tell their story in from of a huge audience?

Thinking back to previous special committees, we have the Republicans Benghazi committee. There was no pretense of trying to find any truth or trying to come up with a base failure in the system to be fixed. No, the only purpose of the Benghazi committee was to embarrass Hillary Clinton. Republicans went after her tooth and nail.

Did she duck? Did she claim special privileges? Did Clinton file lawsuits in every court in the country to stop her from testifying? No. Clinton did nothing wrong. She willingly allowed herself to be grilled for eleven hours without so much as a whimper. She told the truth which was verifiable by the documents she gave the committee.

The January 6th Select Committee is not a kangaroo court like the Benghazi Committee was. There was a huge, huge crime committed – an attempt to overthrow the government of the United States led by a sitting president.  As with all huge crimes, perpetrators must be punished. But also important is to find out how such a rime had been organized and who were the principal leaders were. We need this information to stop it from happening again.

If no one is held accountable for this attempt to overthrow the government, then what happened will become Government Overthrow Practice #1. We will see this happening over and over until they finally succeed. For the country to survive and hopefully prosper, those who led it must be outed and dealt with. And they must be dealt with in a harsh manner.

As a final act, those who have supported the “Big Lie” for the past year or more hoping that supporting the defeated candidate will buy them votes with a public that is still loyal to the man who tried to overthrow the government must be turned out in the next election.

I am looking at you, Chuck Grassley. What the hell did you think the defeated candidate has been doing for the past year with his Big Lie?

Where have Miller-Meeks and Hinson been in their condemnation of the Big Lie? It is time for these folks to be held accountable for their part in not stopping the continuation of the coup by not calling it out. We need to know that our representatives and Senators truly support our country.

Remember headlines like these from last October?

Grassley receives Trump’s endorsement while Iowa’s Republican leaders embrace the former president

And remember the story?

“I was born at night, but not last night, so if I didn’t accept the endorsement of a person that’s got 91 percent of Republican voters in Iowa, I wouldn’t be that smart. I’m smart enough to accept that endorsement.”

The former president said he would endorse Governor Kim Reynolds, who is up for re-election next year, at some point. Reynolds has not formally announced she’s running for a second full term yet.

U.S. House Reps. Ashley Hinson and Mariannette Miller-Meeks spoke ahead of Trump in addition to the state’s governor and senior U.S. Senator.

Let us hope this affiliation with the defeated president hangs around their necks like an albatross.

Isn’t one of these guys trying to split the country with his ‘Big Lie’?
