Join The Factory Farm Moratorium Movement

Action alert from

Four years ago a moratorium on factory farms was not on the political agenda in Iowa. It is because of everyday people taking action we’ve seen growing support at the Statehouse each year since.

While we understand the implications of the continued Republican trifecta at the statehouse, we also know our role is to continue to push both Democrats and Republicans for the bold solutions we need.

That’s why we are inviting you to a virtual Week of Action with our allies at Food & Water Watch to elevate the solutions that put people and planet first. View the timeline and how to participate from home, then RSVP to join us.

Monday Feb 8th: Kickoff Livestream! We will be grounding ourselves in the purpose and timeline for the week in a short livestream you can watch on Facebook or YouTube at 12:45 PM.

Tuesday Feb 9th: Bill Introduction Rally! We are working with our allies and Rep. Art Staed to introduce the bill in the House. You can view the rally on Facebook or YouTube time TBA. Make sure to ask your legislator to co-sponsor.

Wednesday Feb 10th: Lobby training! Join us Wed evening at 6:00 PM on zoom. We will be training folks on how to share compelling stories and also how to lobby legislators in a pandemic.

Thursday Feb 11th: Call in Day! We will send you all the information you need via email to make calls this day. By the end of the day everyone at the statehouse will hear why we need a factory farm moratorium.

Be sure to RSVP for our week of action. Once you register, we will work with our friends at Food & Water Watch to send all of the links, phone numbers and information you need to participate.

We won’t be waiting for the political establishment to set the agenda. We’re going to continue to set the agenda we need, to put people and planet first.

P.S. Send an email to your legislator today asking them to co-sponsor the legislation! You can view who supported last year.
