More Republican Bad Candidates For Iowa

Couldn’t let this subject go without noting what a pile of hogwash Trrump’s party has rolled out as their ticket for state races. At the top of the ticket Republicans proudly entered a candidate who doesn’t even live in the state in Zach Lahn. I guess he has sort of hung around the state for a couple of years, but as I understand it his family has not. Doesn’t seem like much of a commitment to Iowa. Here Zachary Oren Smith of iowastartingline gives us a quick rundown of the Kansan running for governor of Iowa:

Note that Lahn has been in the business of changing the US into an oligarchy for most of his life as a Koch brother stooge. Once Lahn became nominee for the Republicans he had his first decision of consequence to make in picking a running mate. In a decision that will foreshadow his governing style, Lahn picked perhaps the worst possible person he could have in Derek Wulf: Here is Zachary Oren Smith once again (3 minutes)

Another decision Lahn should have made by now was to undo this major mistake. That hasn’t happened and probably won’t.

Another state level office that is up for election this round is that of Attorney General. Iowa’s current AG is Brenna Bird. Bird treats her office as if she were the private consel to the Repblican Party and the MAGA movement. Her only real action has been to make Iowa a guaranteed win for Republicans. It looks like she will be a failure at that.

While Bird does all she can to make Iowa a one party controlled state, her opponent Nate Willems, is campaigning on making Iowa work for all its people. His main issue is going after wage theft from Iowa’s laborers. Here is hoping that willems is elected and has a chance to work for Iowa’s workers. Note that at the beginning, Willems lays out just how huge the wage theft problem is in Iowa. Here is Amie Rivers from iowastartingline.com: 2.5 minutes

Finally let’s have a word from state auditor Rob Sand on the campaign trail (1 minute)

Republicans are putting up some gawd-awful candidates across the country like Ken Paxton in Texas or Michael Collins in Georgia. They couldn’t do any better in Iowa. Up and down the ballot Republicans in Iowa are offering little but Trump lackeys who will be more than happy to support his corruption.

Thhis is not a game. This election will go a long ways toward setting the future direction of the US. Now is the time to select men and women who will put the US back in world leadership.
