November 14th, 1960 Ruby Bridges makes history as she integrated William Frantz Elementary School in New Orleans, La. She was 6 years old.
Now – a bit older – Ms. Bridges will be honored as a National Women’s Hall of Fame honoree next year. She will be inducted with tennis star Serena Williams. Take some time and learn about Ruby Bridges life. A truly inspirational person at the age of 6, she is very deserving of the honor.

Yes, it’s good that gardeners now have an updated plant hardiness zone map. But to anyone who knew the old map and cares about climate change, the new map is scary as heck. Yes, it means the ability to grow some new southern plants. But it means (and confirms) many bad things as well.
