Sunday Funday: Happy Fourth of July, Y’all Edition

Most of us have never heard the story of Benedict Arnold. So here is a quick (4 minute) video of his story:

With Donald Trump’s duplicity, I find myself thinking not of the brave patriots that usually occupy our minds as we celebrate our independence but instead of Benedict Arnold. It was amazing that the US survived and thrived with such a traitor high in our ranks. Now we find that such stories and traitorous people are with us daily and can be at the center of power.

As the case against Trump clarifies, our country must act as if Trump has distributed documents to our enemies. To proceed without that caution would be foolish. We need to elect congress members who assume that Trump did harm to his country and the rules and punishments must be stricter and tighter. There is simply too much at stake to continue to just trust folks.

We better learn from our mistakes with Donald Trump as we did with Benedict Arnold.
