Meeting For People Who Oppose Factory Farms

Sharing is caring!  Action Alert from CCI:

You’ve probably heard: following the construction of two massive slaughterhouses, Iowans are bracing for yet another factory farm influx. Over the last three months, Iowa Select has inundated North Central Iowa with plans for 20 new/expanding factory farms. We’ve heard there are more to come…

Why? Because of the construction of two new massive slaughterhouses in Sioux City and Eagle Grove.

That’s why we need to be ready to organize with our neighbors. We can’t just roll over and let this industry ruin our air, water, and quality of life.

Join us to learn how we can grow our power and fight factory farms!

At this important North Central Iowa convergance, you will:
• connect with other factory farm fighters in your region and across the state,
• learn how to stop factory farms in your community,
• learn how to support local control and a moratorium when you talk to legislators in our “Legislative 101″ training, and
• get excited to grow our power and win!

The details:
When: Saturday, January 27 at 2:00 – 4:00 PM
• Where:  749 2nd St, Webster City
• Who: This meeting is for people who oppose factory farms
RSVP to let us know you are attending

We’ve got momentum on our side. One in five Iowa counties have called for more protections from this industry, and thousands of Iowans are weighing in with calls for local control and a moratorium. Let’s keep it up!

Are you in? RSVP today. Clean air and water — for us, for our kids, for our grandkids — are too important to sit on the sidelines.
