SUNDAY: 3rd Annual Progress Iowa Corn Feed at 1:00 PM
Des Moines, Iowa – The 3rd annual Progress Iowa Corn Feed will take place Sunday, September 10th, including featured speakers Senator Jeff Merkley (D-Oregon), Congressman Dave Loebsack (D-Iowa), Mayor Pete Buttigieg (D-South Bend, Ind.), and Neera Tanden, CEO of the Center for American Progress Action Fund. Also speaking will be all seven announced Democratic candidates for Governor: State Senator Nate Boulton, Cathy Glasson, Fred Hubbell, Dr. Andy McGuire, Jon Neiderbach, John Norris, and Ross Wilburn.
Attendees will participate in an Activist Fair starting at 1:00 p.m. featuring two dozen local progressive organizations, and hear live music from local band Pianopalooza before the speaking program begins. Iowa sweet corn, corn dogs, and popcorn (from locally owned Popcorn Heaven) will be provided to attendees as well, for a fun, family-friendly afternoon!
Participating organizations include the NAACP, NARAL, Interfaith Alliance of Iowa, One Iowa Action, Iowa Moms Demand Action, Popcorn Heaven, Cathy Glasson for Iowa, Asian & Latino Coalition, Iowa Starting Line, Frerick for Congress, I Work & Play, Knupp for Congress, Planned Parenthood Voters of Iowa, Jim Mowrer for Iowa, New Leaders Council, Boulton for Iowa, NAMI Iowa, Norris for the People, Citizens Climate Lobby, McGuire for Governor, Iowa CCI Action Fund, Hubbell for Governor, Iowa Citizen Action Network, Main Street Alliance Iowa, and Every Child Matters.
