Who Heads The Republican Party? I know
by Dave Bradley
Doyou all remember about two years ago that the Republican Party was in
apparent disarray and the punditocracy was declaring them as only a
small, white regional party? One of the biggest questions concerned who
exactly was the leader of the Guardians Of Privilege? Was it Rush? Was
it Mitch McConnell or John Boehner? Was it Sarah Palin?
And person after person denied the crown was theirs. We all thought it
was out of some fake humility or fear of being the target. But thanks in
no small part to Citizens United v. FEC the leader(s) of the Republican
Party have emerged with a vengeance.
At least two of the names heading up the party are David Koch and
Charles Koch. Funny thing is that the Republican owned main stream media
refuses to discuss the Koch Brothers involvement. See, without them
telling you that the Koch Brothers and other billionaires are running
the show you will not be able to figure it out.
Think about what this means to local and national politics. On the
national front we already see the Republican Party driving hard, hard,
hard to dismantle Social Security, Medicare, any health care program of
any kind whether it be for women, children, the poor, the disabled or
veterans. On all levels we see them trying to dry up any money for
education and of course their #1 target of unions, unions, unions all
the while ginning up laws to help the lowly, misunderstood billionaire.
And they can wait because they are on a mission and have more money than
the god they claim to worship. So while Democrats try to maintain any
semblance of a social safety net, Republicans can continue their assault
while not caring one whit about how their constituents feel. They will
use their 98% owned media to tell them how they feel on an issue. They
will buy any seat they want.
If one of their members dare buck them and speak sanity, they will be
dealt with quickly and severely. The offending member can surely kiss
their cushy job good-bye. This is the normal way dictators deal with
what they deem as treason.
Should a Republican assume the presidency, you can bet he or she will be
looking above for guidance – to the Kochs and the other members of the
interlocking directorates of American business. To the people who own
them lock, stock and barrel.
And performance of their puppet will be gauged in the boardrooms of
corporations where these folks congregate. They don’t need email to pass
information. They can do it through the miracle of interlocking
directorates:

(poke around – pick a company and click to find its board and then
click on individual board members and watch how the nest grows).
Folks, this is not what our founders created – a government of the rich,
by the rich and for the rich. We have the votes, despite their
ownership of most of the media. What they can do with their money we can
do with our numbers.
