Governor Reynolds Press Conference: “We Now Have Community Spread”

UPDATE: Sunday night Governor Reynolds issued an update of four more Iowa coronavirus cases and additional community spread. She recommended that Iowa schools close for the next four weeks.  You can watch the video here.  The governor will hold a press conference Monday .

Due to the Trump administration’s dereliction of duty by delaying testing while the disease spreads and calling the virus a hoax and other dangerous nonsense, the people, along with state and local officials and private organizations, have had to figure out what to do on our own.  Since we have been unable to rely on our president to provide leadership we must rely on state government. But this press conference held by Governor Reynolds Saturday did little to inspire confidence.

There was no mention about our testing prospects. The governor did not mention either “social distancing” or “flattening the curve” of the spread of the virus, so here is a link to an excellent video simulation of why and how social distancing works to prevent the spread of the disease.

This image kind of says it all.
