Here is an Indivisible action alert forwarded from CCI
Take Action – Call your U.S. Senator
Early Saturday morning, the U.S. House passed an emergency Coronavirus relief package to help address the health and economic impacts our communities are facing.
While there are always things to critique, this bill is an important first step and the U.S. Senate should pass it immediately.
Iowa Senators Grassley and Ernst need to do what’s right for people and make this emergency response the first order of business.
The Senate must hear the voice of constituents saying WE NEED THESE PROTECTIONS NOW. If we’re silent, we’ll see more dangerous delay.
Call their DC office today:
- Iowa Senator Charles Grassley
- Iowa Senator Joni Ernst

“Hello, my name is ______ and I am from [city/town]. This is urgent: Please tell Senator _____ that voting on this emergency response should be the first order of business. It protects people most in need and so it protects all of us. The House bill is a necessary start. Don’t delay.
Our communities need immediate paid sick leave, unemployment insurance, nutrition aid, more Medicaid funds, free testing and treatment, and protections for health care and other workers.
[if you have a personal story, share it.]
This is a true national emergency – you know that.
Congress must do a lot more than this bill, but this bill must pass now. If there ever was a time for you to speak up, it’s now.”
Thanks for all you do.
