Action alert from Progress Iowa:
TOMORROW (Saturday) at 7 AM: Iowans to speak out against Ernst before town hall
Johnston, Iowa — Iowans will gather to speak out and hold Senator Joni Ernst accountable tomorrow, before her town hall meeting at Wallace Elementary in Johnston. The town hall meeting begins at 7:30 AM, and a press conference featuring everyday Iowans is planned for 7:00 AM.
Ernst went to Washington promising to “make them squeal” but has repeatedly voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which would prove disastrous for Iowans. It would result in thousands losing health care, and nearly 1.3 million in Iowa losing protections from insurance companies who could reject their coverage due to pre-existing conditions.
The statewide organizations Iowa Voices, AFSCME Council 61, Iowa Citizen Action Network, Tax March Iowa, Indivisible Iowa, and Progress Iowa are planning the press conference and encouraging Ernst’s constituents to attend the town hall meeting to ask questions of their Senator.
WHAT: Everyday Iowans speaking out against Ernst
WHEN: Saturday, August 17, 7:00 AM
WHERE: Wallace Elementary School, 6207 NW 62nd Ave, Johnston, Iowa
