![]() State Senator Robb Hogg
Dear Friends: This is just a quick update about four campaign-related items: First, you can still help Tracy Freese, candidate for state senate, before the April 10 special election in Iowa Senate District 25 (all or parts of Butler, Grundy, Hardin, and Story Counties). Tracy is a young, dynamic, progressive “Iowa Mom” and small business owner from Grundy County who can really help clean up the mess in the state legislature if she is elected. Please join me to canvass in Hardin County this Sunday, April 8, starting at noon at the Coffee Attic, 604 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, or find other ways to help including financial contributions. Here is a Facebook event page with details of the canvass on Sunday: https://www.facebook.com/events/161881781189670/ Here is Tracy’s Facebook page with other opportunities to help: https://www.facebook.com/tracyafreese/ Here is Tracy’s web site with a link to contribute financially: Second, it is not too late to join me at the College and Young Democrats of Iowa spring conference on Saturday, April 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Plumbers and Steamfitters, 2501 Bell Avenue, in Des Moines. This event is for Iowans age 35 and younger who want to get more involved. Here are the details about the conference: https://www.facebook.com/events/121666785272381/ Third, please join me in Ames Saturday, April 7, starting at 5:00 p.m., at the Octagon Center for the Arts, 427 Douglas Avenue, for lasagna supper and fundraiser for Tim Winter, candidate for state representative in Iowa House District 48 (all or parts of Story, Boone, Hamilton, and Webster Counties). Here are the details for this event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1441669509295068/ Fourth, State Rep. Amy Nielsen of North Liberty and I are coordinating a “Blue Wave Program” for volunteers to help Democratic state legislative candidates this summer (May 1 to September 3). We are inviting people, especially college and high school students, to apply by Friday, April 27. The Blue Wave Program will help Democratic candidates with the grassroots campaigns we need to reach out to Iowans over the summer so we can take back the Iowa House and the Iowa Senate and undo the damage being done to our state by the current Republican majority and Governor Reynolds. Applications can be submitted to me by email at senatorrobhogg@gmail.com. We would like people to apply by Friday, April 27. If you would like additional information about the program, please send me an email, and I will send you additional details. Thanks for your ongoing involvement and support.
