Sunday Funday – Wha’ Happen?

just not sure

just not sure

Last week feels like we got hit by a truck. The Phillippines literally did – a super typhoon named Haiyan slammed into the islands at full speed leaving a horrible path of death, destruction and need. Do what you can to help.

But news was coming fast and furious from all fronts. Along with all this, Americans prepare to remember Jack Kennedy’s life and the loss the nation sustained as we do so often at the point of a gun.

So what do you remember from this week?

1) A little bit late but this local newspaper apologized 150 years late for dismissing this speech as “silly remarks” and “deserving a veil of oblivion.” What speech received this late apology?

2) What Phillippine city was the hardest hit by super typhoon Haiyan?

3) Provided they win the state title next week, what Iowa high school football team will break the record for the longest unbeaten streak in Iowa history?

4) This senator threatened the Democrats and the country with “more Scalias and Thomases” if Democrats chose to go with the nuclear option. Who threatened that Republicans would purposely choose lousy judges?

5) CBS News, now totally discredited on their Benghazi story is led by David Rhodes. Rhodes earned his chops in the news business with what organization?

6) Suppressing votes in Iowa has been halted temporarily by a judge. The suit the judge ruled in was brought by what 2 organizations?

7) Who is pushing hard for voter suppression in Iowa?

8) A lot of strange events have led to many hearing who the mayor of Toronto, Ont. is. Who is the mayor of Toronto?

9) November 22, 1963 three presidents were in Dallas at the same time. Surely you know two of them. Who was the third?

10) Out of sight out of mind. What much needed federal program suffered cuts just 2 weeks ago?

11) What state slipped in and beat Illinois to be the 15th to legalize marriage equality?

12) Workers at what retailer are planning a strike on Black Friday to protest low wages and poor benefits?

13) What Iowa elected official announced he will be going after his ninth term next year?

14) The FDA proposed banning what last week? It led to Rand Paul advising us to “hoard our doughnuts.”

15) What was the initial price of Twitter stock?

I often wonder what President Kennedy would think of our world today? Don’t think he would be too happy.
