Iowa Progressive Radio: This Week On The Fallon Forum
Thursday from 7:00-800 pm, join us for the fusion of politics
and civility at 98.3 WOW-FM and
on-line at 983wowfm.com.
Call (515) 312-0983 or (866) 908-TALK to participate in the
conversation. If you miss the show, you can hear it as a podcast and please
help support local progressive talk radio with a donation through Pay
Pal or by check to PO Box 13421, Des Moines, IA 50310. Dear Friends,
I'm on RAGBRAI, but don't let that stop you from tuning in to some great programming this week.
Monday, Peggy Huppert hosts a conversation about the debt ceiling with David Swenson. David is associate scientist in economics at Iowa State University and a regular commentator in the local media on matters related to finance and the economy.
Tuesday, Jeffrey Weiss is our guest host. With him will be Yasher Vaset, director of the United Nations Association of Iowa. Yasher is from Iran. He'll reflect on what it was like growing up in Iran and address some of the misconceptions Americans have of his country.
Wednesday, it's the final installment of “The Penis Dialogues.” I'll be back in the studio for this one, joined by Charles Goldman and Slacker Jack.
Thursday, Jon Krieg and Kathleen McQuillen of the American Friends Service Committee talk about military “over-spending” and how this affects the federal budget and deficit. The conversation will focus on how federal budget cuts are hurting local human needs programs. Jon and Kathleen will also talk about U.S. policy in Palestine/Israel and an interfaith conference on that topic coming up October 14-15 in Ankeny.
So, tune in at 98.3 WOW-FM and online. You can download the Fallon Forum as a podcast, too. Thanks!
