Is Iowa Ready For Its Own “Fightin’ Bob” Fest?

Is Iowa Ready For Its Own “Fightin' Bob” Fest?

Kudos to Wisconsin. Standing up to the manufactured “crisis.”

Made me think of “Fightin' Bob” LaFollette, their former governor.

As many of you know there is an annual “Fightin' Bob fest” formerly held in Baraboo, moving to Madison in 2011. Actually, this year there are two, one in Chippewa Falls (Fightin' Bob fest North).

If you are interested go here: http://fightingbobfestnorth.org/ and here: http://www.fightingbobfest.org/

However, as many know, Iowa has a grand progressive history also. We have had such progressive legends as Henry Wallace, Harold Hughes and John Culver. I am sure there are more.

Is Iowa ready for its own “Fightin' Bob” fest?

Wondering what people would think? Who could we feature? Where would it be? Is there interest?

In the meantime, perhaps the first “fightin” Bob” fest should be on Tuesday when Iowans who believe in progressive ideals show up in Des Moines.
