Four vendors will demonstrate voting equipment this coming
Monday and Tuesday at the Johnson County
4-H Fairgrounds. The demonstrations are
part of Johnson County’s
purchase evaluation of a new voting system for voters in Johnson
County. The Johnson County Board of Supervisors will
host the demonstration. The equipment
purchase is in keeping with new federal requirements of the HAVA (Help American
Vote Act) as well as Iowa SF2269. The
demonstrations will take place in Building C on the Johnson
County 4-H Fairgrounds.
The public is invited to attend any or all of
these demonstrations.
The County hopes to install the new voting machines before
the fall elections. Johnson
County last purchased new voting
equipment in 1984. Questions about the
demonstrations or the purchase of the new equipment will be taken by the
Johnson County Auditor’s Office at (319) 356-6004.
