Call to Action: Support Paper Ballots in Iowa!

Call to Action:  Support Paper Ballots in Iowa!

by Jerry Depew

Today in Pocahontas, Iowa, State Senate co-president Jack Kibbie asked for your help – without knowing you exist.

He said a few letters to the
Des Moines Register would help get things going for a paper ballot
requirement in Iowa.  That is our cue!

Here is the address:

letters@news.dmreg.com

He said
he had asked Senator Wally Horn to draft a bill to achieve what Kibbie and
you and I all want.  But he also said the auditors from Marshall, Linn, and
Story counties had appeared before a legislative committee and OPPOSED his
idea to require paper proof for the voters.

So here is what we can
do:

Write the Register.   Do you trust paperless machines?  Have they
caused any trouble?  Are they too expensive?  Keep it simple and
non-partisan.

Write Sen. Horn to express your interest. wally.horn@legis.state.ia.us

Write
your own senator–
addresses here.  Just fill in your own street address and the contact info for your state senator will pop up.

Find information to use in your argument here.

Thanks for your help.  Time is ticking.
