Jennifer Konfrst is amazing and I am glad she is on our side. On last week’s Iowa Press Konfrst was more than ready for the panel’s usual GOP-friendly questions. So if you’re someone who has stopped watching Iowa Press because of their favoritism toward the Iowa Republican party, and total failure to expose them for what they are, I declare this one relatively safe to watch because Konfrst is so good. And be sure to support Democrats in November.
“…we know for a fact that Iowans are overwhelmingly pro-choice. 57% of Iowa are pro-choice in the latest Ann Selzer poll and that is up 8 points from the year before. So it’s trending in the direction of favoring a woman’s right to make her own health care decisions. Iowans are tired of politicians making decisions for them and they’re tired of political games.”
Worst question this week goes to Kay Henderson’s “really??” in a you-must-be-joking tone when Konfrst said Iowa is really a purple state, not a red state. As if Henderson isn’t old enough to remember Iowa’s electoral votes going to Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012 or the fact that three of Iowa’s four representatives in congress from 2019-2021 were Democrats – Loebsack, Finkenauer and Axne.
Again I will make the observation that the Iowa Press panel would never talk to a Republican in a similar manner. If Henderson thought Konfrst was wrong, she should have neutrally asked her why she believes Iowa is really a purple state instead of using a tone of disbelief like it was the craziest thing she’d ever heard.
If Konfrst has anything to say about it Dems will be a force to be reckoned with again very soon. Watch.
