Raccoon River One Of Most Endangered Rivers Of 2021

BREAKING: American Rivers just named Raccoon River one of the most endangered rivers of 2021. Add your name to our petition calling on the EPA to address the factory farm pollution in the Raccoon River and all of Iowa’s 750 impaired waterways.

We teamed up with American Rivers and Food & Water Watch to once again fight for our #Right2CleanWater.  Because the water we drink, cook, bathe, swim, and fish in needs to be safe and clean for all Iowans – rural & urban, young & old, across race, gender, and income level.

CCI members have been fighting tirelessly for years to get our elected officials to pass bold measures to address our clean water crisis. But legislators have stopped our moratorium bill from being discussed, the DNR refuses to hold polluters accountable, and the State is fighting our clean water lawsuit every step of the way because they don’t want to be held responsible for their failure to step up.

Enough is enough – now it’s time to take it to the next level. Sign our petition calling on the EPA to step in and protect our #Right2CleanWater.

After you sign our petition, share it with your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers. With a new administration at the federal level, we need to push for bold action, and we need your help to make sure it happens.

We want to meet with Biden’s EPA staff to let them know what is going on in Iowa and why they need to step in immediately. It’s time to stop putting the interests of corporate polluters before our right to clean water.

For clean water,

Abby (she/her)
Farm & Environment Organizer

P.S. CCI members don’t quit! Every day we stand up for clean water and push back against factory farms and the harmful pollution they create. Pitch in $10, $15, $25 or more if possible, to keep this work going strong.

P.P.S Our clean water lawsuit is still with the Iowa Supreme Court but don’t worry, we’ll let you know the moment we get a ruling. In the meantime, click here to get a refresher on the case.
