Btw, when and why did we stop calling it global warming?

If one looks at the history of the terminology, I’m almost certain that “climate change” was originally introduced as part of the Deny-Deflect-Do-nothing Movement to make global warming seem less threatening to the public. And the DDDM as a whole has been horrifyingly successful. But in the end, I don’t think “climate change” has turned out to be a success as a DDDM term, because it’s just as scary as “global warming” for those who acknowledge that it is real.
As for the DDDM position, I keep losing track of whether, at this point, the canonical view is that climate change isn’t happening, or we’re not sure whether climate change is happening, or climate change is happening but is benign, or climate change is happening and is bad but there’s nothing we can do about it, or climate change is happening and is bad but there’s nothing we SHOULD do about it, or what. I do know that the trolls on the subject are incredibly quick to jump onto REG climate stories, so I wonder if some of them have made it a full-time online hobby, like defending Trump.
