Action Alert From Citizens for Community Improvement
The US Army Corps of Engineers approved the permit for the Bakken pipeline: this essentially allows the pipeline to cross 64 waterways, and clears the last official regulatory hurdle.
This is “business as usual” for Iowa regulators—putting corporate interests ahead of the common good and our land.
That’s why we’re not surprised by this decision, and we’re doubling down on the resistance. Direct actions, rallies, and events are ongoing to mobilize more Iowans who are opposed to the pipeline!
Join the Summer of Resistance:
Landowners are appearing in front of condemnation commissions to resist the illegal taking of their land and need your support! Click here to attend the next one on Aug.1.
Join a team of hundreds of everyday Iowans who are committed to engaging in non-violent civil disobedience to delay and halt construction.
We need to leave this oil in the ground and turn to true renewable energies like wind and solar that will create good jobs, protect our environment, and build our communities.
Thank you for keeping this fight strong,
State Policy Director
