Vice President Joe Biden will join the Nuns on the Bus to kick off 10 state tour focused on voter registration and participation

Des Moines, IA – On Wednesday, September 17th at 10:30AM Vice President Joe Biden will join Sister Simone Campbell and the Nuns on the Bus to kick off their 2014 tour at the Iowa Capitol.

The “We the People, We the Voters” bus tour, organized by NETWORK, A National Catholic Social Justice Lobby, will engage voters and encourage voter registration at 75 events in 36 cities along the 5,252-mile route. Catholic sisters from each state along the route will join the tour to hold voter registration drives, visit Catholic social service sites and host town hall meetings to hear the concerns of local communities.

During the 2012 election, Sister Simone and NETWORK’s Nuns on the Bus helped to shift the national political debate as they traveled across the country to connect with the people and lift up the work of Catholic sisters.
