Hatch For Iowa Governor

Jack and Sonja Hatch

Sonja and Jack Hatch

A letter from Jack and Sonja Hatch dated May 30, 2014:

We will celebrate 28 years of marriage today, and we’re having the same experience many couples do: it’s hard to believe the time has gone by so fast.

We met in Des Moines’ Sherman Hill neighborhood and have lived here ever since. We’ve raised two children, fixed up more than our share of homes, and even had the great blessing of being able to spend some time traveling together.

Now our kids are grown and out of the house, but we have been joined by Sonja’s mother and even our foreign exchange student from several years back is visiting this summer.  There’s never a dull moment.

One thing we cherish is the real partnership we’ve had throughout our marriage. You see, we’re partners in life and in business. We started with a few dreams, years of hard work and always the dedication to do what was right for our family, community and state. We are spouses, parents and best friends.

Together we’ve built more than 500 units of housing in Des Moines and Cedar Rapids since 2003, and we’re incredibly proud of that success. But we did it with an eye toward rebuilding neighborhoods and communities, and making affordable housing available to people who need it. We’re even more proud of that impact.

So tonight we will take a little time off the campaign trail to mark the occasion, but not too much. That’s because this year, we’re putting our partnership to work for every Iowan. We want to restore the honesty and integrity in government Iowans have rightly come to expect over the years.

We’re very proud of the partnership we have built together. Though it may be Jack’s name on the ballot, we will work together and work harder than ever to create new opportunities and better communities when he’s Governor.

Will you join us? Please make your contribution today of $5, $10 or $25?

Very truly yours,

Jack and Sonja Hatch
