Branstad’s Brain

branstadIowa Senate Democrats met with Governor Branstad to plan continuing and possibly expanding health care for 150,000 Iowans.  There have been eight Republican governors who have put the needs of the residents of their state above political machinations.  These senators were hoping that Governor Branstad was going to join them or at the very least develop an alternative that would expand health care for needy Iowans.

So, let’s see if you can decipher the HCC (Hidden Communication Code) embedded in the video below of  the senators after the meet-up with Branstad.  What is this demoralized group of hard-working legislators attempting to find words to express, while being too Iowa-nice to actually come out and say it?   Here’s our guess as to what they are trying not to say:

(1) After all this time as governor, they are shocked to find that Mr. Branstad appears to have no idea of how government works;

(2) The governor does not seem to possess a clue about what he might do about Medicaid expansion and Iowa’s health care future (hint–because he’s not going to do anything);

(3) the governor is stalling (before he reveals that he’s not going to do anything) and plans to continue to stall for at least 2 more weeks, at which time it will be all but too late to do anything.

If you are surprised by this, you have been going around in a fog and Iowa needs you to snap out of it!  Terry Branstad is owned by the national GOP and ALEC.  He cares not a whit about our fair state. Maybe the Terry Branstad of yesteryear did, but the Terry Branstad of today’s Republican party does not.

Watch this group of discouraged legislators try their darndest to fathom the brain of Governor Branstad.  Sad, really.

    Join 420 Iowans and sign a petition to tell the gov. you want 150 thousand Iowans to have medicaid and save their state 130 million dollars.
