Register To Vote! Vote Early! Turn Your Ballot Over!

This note from IDP chairwoman Sue Dvorsky was in our mailbox today.

Friends,

We’re so close.

Everything could come down to just a few votes. So here’s what we need you to do:

First, don’t forget to register to vote! You need to mail your voter registration by Monday, October 22 or return it in person by Saturday, October 27.

Second, If you’re already registered, we need you to vote earlyEarly voting started September 27 and runs through November 5. Early voting is an especially good option if you don’t want to worry about taking time off from school or work on Election Day — November 6. You can also vote by mail, as long as it’s postmarked by Monday, November 5.

Third, we need you to make sure to turn your ballot over and vote on our non-partisan Supreme Court Justices. Maintaining an independent judiciary branch is critical to our democratic society and will ensure the civil rights of all Iowans are protected.

If you have questions about your registration, your voting location, or need to request a vote by mail ballot, Go to www.GottaVote.com.

So vote and check it off your list, so that when you go out to register and mobilize voters or talk to your friends – you can say, “I voted already and so can you. It’s easy, here’s what you do.”

In a critical battleground state like Iowa, this election is going to be won on the ground.

Election Day is 22 days away. We can’t waste a moment.

And with your help, I know we will deliver Iowa and the country for President Obama and our Democratic candidates in November.

Now let’s go out and win this thing!
