Governor Chet Culver to Hold Media Conference Call Monday in Response to the Americans for Prosperity Super PAC Event in Coralville  11:00 AM:

Des Moines – On Monday, former Iowa Governor Chet Culver will host a media conference call to respond to the Americans for Prosperity (AFP) super PAC event that is being held Monday in Coralville and Friday in Des Moines with Joe the Plumber, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and Steve King.

AFP, a group with ties to Mitt Romney, is funded by billionaire oil executives the Koch Brothers.  They are calling for an immediate elimination of all support for renewable energy – a crucial industry to Iowa’s economy. AFP just spent $6 million in different states, including Iowa, to run false and negative ads against the President’s clean energy policies.

The Iowa Democratic Party and Governor Culver have a few questions about Romney, his renewable energy policies and his ties to these secretive outside groups.  The Romney campaign has yet to hold one event in Iowa since the caucuses, instead relying on shady outside groups like AFP to do their bidding. This is unprecedented in the history of Iowa politics.
