Texas Governor and would-be presidential contender Rick Perry called Social Security a Ponzi Scheme. He likened one of the most popular and successful government programs of all time to nothing more than a Bernie Madoff scam.
Never mind that this program has literally saved millions of American retirees from indigence.

Sure, he came up with this hyperbolically erroneous comparison to trump up his book sales in preparation for his soon to be announced presidential bid.  But it still deserves some sort of reply from sane folk who do not wish to see their parents, children and selves live in crippling poverty when they are too old to fend for themselves.

The Alliance for Retired Americans will picket Rick Perry’s visit to the Quad Cities on Monday, November 14th.

The ARA are rallying at the Republican Party Fundraiser Banquet that is honoring former President Ronald Reagan. They are not against this function !!!! They are against the keynote speaker who is the Texas Governor Rick Perry. Governor Perry is against Social Security he has been quoted saying it is a ” ponzi scheme”. How can he honor former President Ronald Reagan who has been a supporter of Social Security?

The goal here is to get Governor Perry to see the errors of his ways on Social Security.
