Thank you, President Obama
Osama Bin Laden, the terrorist who masterminded the 2001 attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, is now, ten years later, finally dead. We will not repeat the popular media narratives on this blog about who gets the credit.
Or how it affects the 2012 election. Or should the photos be published.
The previous president is on record saying that he did not know where Osama Bin Laden was hiding and bragged that he “just didn't spend that much time thinking about it.” This is George W. Bush at a White House press conference in 2002, just six months after 9/11:
Thank God we no longer have that president.
Following the announcement that Bin Laden had been killed by Navy Seals, the national media conversation, without missing a beat, moved on to the same old sideshow of petty criticisms, vapid commentary and right-wing blather.
But before we move on, we would like to pause for the briefest of moments to say what no one seems to be remembering to say:
Thank you, President Obama.
Reports of bin Laden's death have been greatly exagerrated – He's in Boca Raton, Florida!

Peace!
