And don't forget to listen to Bradshaw from 1-4 weekdays on 98.3 WOW-FM.

Dear Friends,

As pro-democracy protests spread from the Mideast to the Midwest, eyes once fixed on Tunis, then Cairo, then Madison now turn to Des Moines. Tuesday at 1:00 at the State Capitol, Iowans will rally in opposition to Governor Branstad's assault on the middle class and working poor.

Bradshaw and I will be there, and we hope you'll come, too.

Even as the gap between America's rich and poor widens, big corporations and the very wealthy control more and more of the American pie. Will the protests in Madison, Des Moines and other US cities have an impact? Or is it time to ratchet-up the pressure and launch campaigns of civil disobedience?

To help navigate this question, Patty MacDonell joins us on Monday. I first met Patty in the 1980s when she moved to Des Moines from the Community for Creative Non-Violence (CCNV) in Washington, DC. CCNV became famous for its bold use of civil disobedience on behalf of the poor and homeless. Check out this 1982 news clip involving a huge apple pie.

Tuesday, Professor Clarence Lusain of American University joins us to discuss his book, “The Black History of the White House.”

Wednesday, we talk about Whole Foods, the national chain that some officials in central Iowa want to lure here with taxpayer handouts. We'll discuss Whole Foods' dismal record on organics, despite its lip service to the contrary.

Thursday, State Rep Dan Kelley (D-Newton) gives us an insider's look at this week at the Iowa Statehouse.

Please take a minute to visit the Fallon Forum website,
make a donation and help support local, progressive talk radio. We're
entirely funded by local individuals, businesses and organizations!

Thanks!
Ed Fallon
