Monday, in a fitting tribute to Martin Luther King Jr, award-winning columnist and author Leonard Pitts will be our guest tonight on the Fallon Forum.

In a far less-fitting tribute — and what is best described as shear blasphemy — Glenn Beck today sought to don Martin Luther King's mantle of non-violence. One wants to believe Beck is merely being sarcastic or looking for a good laugh. Alas, he probably means it, or at least thinks he does.

Yet how can any thinking person not be disgusted and offended at Beck's hypocrisy? After all, Beck hates Muslims, has said he would like to kill Michael Moore, and once expounded on his hatred of the families of 911 victims, to name a few of his non-King-like commentaries.

Tuesday, we talk about Whole Foods, the national natural foods chain that wants to set-up shop in central Iowa. Will local officials will fall all over themselves trying to offer Whole Foods public handouts? If so, I hope they'll explain to us taxpayers how subsidizing Whole Foods is fair to Campbell's Nutrition, New City Market, Gateway Market and other locally-owned businesses that aren't on the public dole.

Wednesday, we again dig into the issue of funding for passenger rail and look at a bill introduced in the Iowa House that would eliminate state funding for expanding service in eastern Iowa.

Thursday, State Rep Dan Kelley joins us for a look at the Legislature's second week of activity.

Please take a minute to visit the Fallon Forum website,
make a donation and help support local, progressive talk radio. We're
entirely funded by local individuals, businesses and organizations!

Thanks!

Ed Fallon
