Dear Friends,

Diversity is a good thing, right? Well, we've
got plenty of that on the Fallon Forum this week, starting with
advocates for the homeless joining us
Monday from 7:00-7:30 to
discuss “Opening Doors,” a celebration to recognize those who've made
the journey from homelessness to hope. Also
on Monday, Kim Houlding with
Story County Veterinary Clinic joins us from 7:30-8:00 to discuss
problems associated with the growing number of cats and dogs that aren't
being spayed or neutered.

Tuesday

my guest is Jim Sutton, chair of the Iowa Democratic
Party Platform Committee
. In addition to digging into what's in the
Democrats' platform – and comparing it with what's in the Republicans'
platform – we'll get Jim's take on the recent election.

Wednesday

I'm joined by David Cobb, former Green Party candidate
for President. We'll discuss the issue of
corporate personhood. For
those concerned about money in politics (who isn't!), this is an
important conversation.

Thursday

, some of my former legislative colleagues will help me
process the recent election, specifically as it relates to the Iowa
Statehouse. What caused the dramatic shift  from Democratic to
Republican? What issues can we expect to be addressed because of it –
and which problems might be ignored or even made worse?
