Dear Friends,
Monday, as a follow-up to Sunday's 10-10-10 worldwide day of climate action, we talk with Bill Leonard, a former Des Moines Register editorial board writer. Bill has been writing about environmental issues for longer than many of us have been able to read. Like a growing number of Americans, he's deeply concerned about the lack of decisive action to address climate change.
Tuesday, Lori Chesser and Geof Fisher join us to discuss a recent Iowa poll on immigration showing that 66% of Iowans favor passing an Arizona-style law. Taken in it's entirety, though, the poll indicates Iowans have mixed feelings about immigrants and how to respond to the need for immigration reform.
Wednesday, we speak with David Goodner and Lara Elborno about the latest developments in the FBI's effort to harass peace activists. Not only did some activists have their homes raided, they have been issued subpoenas to appear before a federal grand jury. Read more in this Chicago Tribune story.
Thursday, in yet another example of attempts to silence our first amendment rights, Chris Petersen of the Iowa Farmers Union talks with us about Farm Bureau's lawsuit against two members of the state Environmental Protection Commission over a rule intended to improve Iowa's water quality. Ed and Lynn Fallon
