Dear Friends,
Monday on The Fallon Forum we talk with Ambassador Ken Quinn about the immigrant resettlement initiative in the 1970s, led by then-governor Bob Ray. What would the public reaction be today if the Governor extended a welcoming hand in this way to Latino immigrants?
Tuesday, David Goodner joins us to share an incredible story about the FBI spying on Iowans opposed to U.S. foreign policy. Heavily-redacted records show that FBI agents staked out political activists' homes, photographed them, snooped through their cell phone records and even dug in their trash. Josef Stalin would, no doubt, be favorably impressed.
Wednesday, we talk with Oliver and Rachel Borzo about their experience in South Africa as an interracial couple, and what that experience has to say about race relations here in Iowa.
Thursday, Ying Sa of Community CPA & Associates is our guest. Ying tells us about recent changes in state and federal tax law and what you can do to prepare for those changes when you file your 2010 tax return early next year.
And for more progressive talk radio check out The Bradshaw Show,Monday – Friday from 1:00-4:00 pm on 98.3 WOW-FM. Bradshaw's a West Des
Moines' native and up against Rush Limbaugh during that time slot. So
give him a listen and even a call as we work to create more local,
progressive programming on our public airwaves.
