May 12 – Live Broadcast of The Fallon Forum (Humeston)

We take the show on the road to this scenic Wayne County town to talk about how a small, rural community is keeping its local economy vibrant and moving forward. It’s at the Public Library from 6:30 – 8:00 pm. Contact fallonforum@gmail.com.

May 15 – Cool Congregations Workshop (Coralville)
For people of faith who want to care for God’s creation and address climate change. Participants receive the training and tools they need to make a difference in their homes, congregations and communities. Cost is $20. May 17-21 – Bike To Work Week (Iowa)
This event continues to grow each year. In 2009, 716 employers, 114 cities, and 2,395 commuters (22% first-timers) participated. May 22 – Flood Recovery Day Trip (Cedar Rapids)
Volunteers will do light labor in service to neighborhoods still suffering from the 2008 floods, All skill levels welcome. Carpool to Cedar Rapids, leaving at 7:00 am from Plymouth United Church of Christ, 4126 Ingersoll Ave, Des Moines. Arrive back in Des Moines by 6:00 pm.
