Iowa Democrats Make History – Loebsack, Braley, Boswell, Vote for Health Care Bill,  Against Stupak Amendment

Blog for Iowa thanks Iowa Democratic Congressmen Dave Loebsack, Bruce Braley, and Leonard Boswell, for voting yea to the health care reform bill which passed in the House of Representatives last night. 

Loebsack, Braley and Boswell also were united in voting against the Stupak amendment, which passed, and  imposes redundant restrictions on reproductive rights for women, already not allowed in the bill.  

Conventional wisdom says that passing the Stupak amendment allowed conservative Democrats to vote for the bill, which is probably right, but it is also a step backwards for women's rights while the nation is trying to move forward.  Such is the nature of progress. 

Has anyone noticed that watching the Democrats feels a lot like watching the Iowa Hawkeyes?
