Joe Wilson trying to debase our democracy. [I just heard Olbermann say tonight they are closing in on half a million $.] But while they try to disrupt our democracy, we engage in it. Update: In the eight hours since Wilson's outburst, his Democratic opponent, former-Marine Rob Miller, has received nearly 3,000 individual grassroots contributions raising approximately $100,000, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee said. (AP-Yahoo! News)
The member of Congress who yelled that the president was a liar during the speech before Congress and the nation last night was Rep. Joe Wilson (R) of South Carolina. He apparently thought he was at a town hall meeting. Here's his official website – joewilson.house.gov – although it was being overwhelmed with “visitors” last night and this morning it says it is “down for maintenance.”
