Congressman Bruce Braley to Hold Town Hall Call on Energy Legislation Impact on Iowans

by Molly Regan

On Monday May 11, I listened to our 1st District Rep. Bruce Braley speak before a group of about 50 in Davenport. Rep. Braley discussed The American Clean Energy And Security Act of 2009 and the impacts it will have on IOWANS.  [Click on the link above for a PDF file of the Waxman-Markey draft of the bill. “The legislation will create millions of new clean energy jobs, save consumers hundreds of billions of dollars in energy costs, enhance America's energy independence, and cut global warming pollution.”  There is a link to the bill below.]

On Wednesday, May 13 at 7PM, there will be a telephone town hall that eastern IOWANS can
call in to join in the discussion

Please go to braley.house.gov and click on Energy on the right side.  Then fill in the form to be included on Wednesday night's call.

It is a good idea to take time to look through the bill itself, that is if you have time to read its 648 pages……or maybe just the five page summary

Hope you can join in the discussion. It is important to Rep. Braley that we here in eastern IOWA weigh in with our ideas and remarks.

Hundreds of constituents joined Congressman

Braley in
Davenport for his town hall meeting on the
economic stimulus package
