The Iowa White House Forum on Health Reform, Des Moines, Iowa, March 23, 2009
The Iowa White House Forum on Health Reform will bring together Iowans who have a stake in our health care system and the people who have the ability change it.
The Iowa White House Forum on Health Reform is designed to achieve three goals:
* To signal the support of key Governors and state officials for national health reform, to advance the Administration’s understanding of the problems and solutions for our health care system, and to develop ideas and momentum;
* To make stakeholders feel part of the process and demonstrate the support of historical opponents of health care reform; and
* To listen to the voices and concerns of Iowans, to demonstrate an open process for reform, and to make the federal government accountable to the people-a different kind of government than our country has seen before.
This event will be hosted by Iowa Governor Chet Culver. [Senators Harkin and Grassley will be in attendance].
The forum is a ticketed event for policy makers and health care leaders. A lottery will be held for the public to participate. Iowans may call toll-free 1-800-645-8864 from Monday March 16 at 9 a.m. until noon Wednesday, March 18. [You can also go to healthreform.gov.]
