Say What? Bush Receives Medal of PEACE?

Say What? Bush Receives Medal of PEACE?

by Linda Thieman

Christianity Today is reporting that Saddleback wingnut pastor, Rick Warren, has created an award he calls the International Medal of PEACE, and that he has presented it to U.S. junta-puppet-in-chief, George W. Bush.  CT also laments that this was not front-page news over at the New York Times.  (Perhaps it's on the funny pages.)

According to ThinkProgress, the “International Medal of PEACE” is given for outstanding contribution toward alleviating the five global giants recognized by the Coalition, including pandemic diseases, extreme poverty, illiteracy, self-centered leadership and spiritual emptiness.

In general, when one word is turned into ALL CAPS, one can assume the term is an acronym.  Let's see if it works:

P=pandemic diseases
E=extreme poverty
I=illiteracy
S=self-centered leadership
S=spiritual emptiness

Yup, it works!  If you remove the E, because Bush does not live in extreme poverty, he is actually the perfect representative of the other BIG FOUR = PISS.

OK, I think I see what is going on here.  In the Orwellian dystopia created in the novel 1984, they use Newspeak to reverse the meaning of terms.  Peace means war, as in the Rovian-wingnut meme, “We've won the war; now we have to win the peace.”  Win the peace?  The wingnuts even have that liberal evil-doer John Kerry spouting this tripe.

Say, there may be a 49-day appointment over at the Ministry of Truth for Pastor Rick.  What say you?
