Obama to Announce Hillary as SoS Today
Well, this is good news indeed. When the presidential was a three-way race, I supported Obama (progressive that I am) and thought it would be interesting to see how long McCain could stand up to the wingnuts (not long). There was no doubt in my mind that Hillary would make a very able leader, but her politics have not been my politics. However, when the sexist jabs began to take hold and women of a certain age became enraged, I was right there with them, feeling their pain.So, this day, with the announcement of Hillary Rodham Clinton as Obama's Secretary of State imminent, I am finally letting out my breath. It may have been too much to ask for Howard Dean to have been asked to participate in the new administration in some top-drawer kind of a way, but at least Hillary is getting what she deserves and what she can't help but be good at.
The conservatives like to claim that “liberal bloggers” are vehemently against Hillary, but if you actually take a look over at Daily Kos, there is not much sign of it.
