Niche pork production training sessions

Niche pork production training sessions

Gary Huber, IFU
There will be two more sets of niche pork production trainings coming up starting in December (see attached brochures).

The four topics involved were chosen based on key production issues identified from 2006 records results of a project that PFI is part of (see full report at http://www.valuechains.org/pnmwg).

One topic is nutrition management for niche pork, which will involve two day-long on-site workshops – one at the NIACC campus in Mason City and the at the Northwest Iowa Community College campus in Sheldon.

The other three will involve multiple-session discussion groups that farmers can participate in from their home or their local extension office. The topics for these three groups are:

1. Increasing Niche Pork Profits Discussion Group (starts Dec. 13. 2007)

2. Niche Sow Breeding & Gestation Discussion Group (starts Feb. 12, 2007)

If you are involved in raising niche hogs, please consider participating.

Thanks.
