“Stop the Dirty Coal Plant” Dance Benefit Party planned for July 19!

By Theresa Carbrey, Education Coordinator, New Pioneer Food Co-op

Come share your ideas at the Green Energy Fair:
7-8:30 pm, Thursday July 19 at Old Brick, 26 E. Market St. IC

The “Green Energy Fair” part of the “Dance Benefit Party” will run 7-8:30 pm. It will offer you and your group a chance to share your work with the community.  There is no charge to set up a table. Feel free to sell logo items, literature or food treats as a fundraiser. Dress in costume (as Bush? as Miss Piggy?), invite people to play games to make your booth more engaging (how about a shell game for our environmental future?).

Consider making a $50 (or more) donation to Plains Justice and see your group’s name included on the “No Dirty Coal!” banner prominently displayed in the front of the hall.

Take a look at the “Stop the Dirty Coal Plant” Dance Benefit Party planned for July 19 and join us! The text is below.

This event will attract a good crowd as it offers cold beer and a chance to dance to live music for a good cause.

Please help publicize the “Stop the Dirty Coal Plant” Dance Party as all funds raised will go to Plains Justice and their legal work, which is so essential to stopping this giant environmental mistake. There is no reason for Iowans to suffer pollution for the profit of selling power to Chicago! And these coal plants will make it virtually impossible to Iowa to take part in reducing greenhouse gasses in the future.

Can you confirm you will be attending by July 16 at 5 pm? Thanks!
Please contact me with any questions or comments.
