Redress for the Headdress

Dear All,

Below, letter to Jacki Rand from Gary Grant.  As you can see, Leach's office will no longer distribute Native American headdress at 2nd district parades.  Clearly, we embarrassed Jim Leach into stopping this racist practice and that was our goal all along. 

We are especially grateful to Jacki Rand, UI Asst. Prof. of History and Oklahoma Choctaw.  We would not have been able to execute this project without her.  Thanks to everyone who wrote a letter to the editor, gave words of support, signed and forwarded our petition. 

This is indeed a victory for everyone, especially Native Americans.
