Des Moines Community Hearing on Abusive Lending

The
Coalition Against Abusive Lending will be holding a Community Hearing
on abusive lending practices at 6:00 PM, on Tuesday, October 19, 2004
at the Polk County Central Senior Center, 2008 Forest Avenue (at the
corner of Forest and Martin Luther King Parkway).




The
hearing will provide an opportunity for Des Moines area residents to
share their experiences with abusive lending practices, including
subprime mortgage lending, contract sales, payday loans, and tax refund
anticipation loans.  In addition, there will be a short
presentation on abusive lending practices, a discussion of recommended
courses of action, and a question and answer period.




The hearing will be co-sponsored by the following organizations:
