MUSCATINE,
Iowa – While other Americans plan to watch the Democratic National
Convention on television this month, Muscatine native Karrie Temple
looks forward to becoming part of the event.

Temple,
daughter of Paul and Kay Temple of Muscatine, has been selected to
attend the Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars
Democratic National Convention Program July 18-30 in Boston.

The
20-year-old academic seminar program gives college students and
18-year-old high school graduates a first-hand view of candidates and
their supporters priming the political playing field.

Temple
said she hopes to hear former president Bill Clinton and Massachusetts
Sen. Edward Kennedy speak during the convention, which will be held
July 26-29.
