John Drury: A Message of Thanks

Dear
Democracy for Iowa
Democrats:

Thank
you for all the continuing support and encouragement you have given our
campaign.  And today, thank you for all you did encouraging Democracy for America to name
us to the Dean Dozen.  It is a real honor to be the first in Iowa to receive this
designation when there are so many deserving candidates.

While our
campaign is the privileged one to receive today's endorsement, there are
many, many others like us working hard all across Iowa.  We have a tremendous opportunity
to regain control of the Iowa
legislature this year.  Only five seats away in both houses.  On the
Senate side, the numbers are particularly promising.  With 25 seats being
contested this year, 17 of them are held by Republicans, which clearly makes it
to our advantage.  In several of those seats, incumbents are not running
for re-election and in others, like in our district, 60% of the registered
voters in the district have never seen the incumbent's name on the ballot
because of redistricting.  In these races, the weight of incumbency is
substantially lost.  I encourage all of you to work for your local Senate
candidate and contribute generously.  If you reside in one of those
districts where there is no election this year; then help make a difference and
find a candidate you can help…maybe even our campaign?

and Blog for Iowa webmaster.  She has been a real source of valuable help to our campaign,
as well as encouragement.  Thanks, also, to Alta Price, DFIA co-founder,
for all the support she has given to us.
