Dean Gossip: A Light-hearted Start To The Day
You
know, I was just looking through the Blog for Iowa control panel,
minding my own business, clicking on links to see where our hits were
coming from, scratching my head and trying to explain why our
readership has more than doubled in the month of June. I suspect
it has at the very least something to do with Alta passing out hundreds
of Blog for Iowa buttons (see right sidebar to order!).
Anyhoo, one of our hits came from a Dean blog called Value Judgment: Fair and Balanced Since 2003. With a name like that, you know it has to be good.
So, “J” devoted a post to juicy rumors from the Daily Kos
site, one of which I will relate below. I don't usually publish
gossip, unless, of course, it has been sanctioned by a wire
service. LOL. Because, gosh only knows, we Dean supporters
are well aware how accurate the reporting is in the media these
days. Ya gotta have standards.
Well,
this morning, I decided to lower those, ahem, high standards and just
have a little bit of fun. Personally, I think there is a ring of
truth to this rumor. I mean, why COULDN'T Kerry have a
“man-crush” on Howard Dean? There is so much to respect
there. I think just about anyone, yes, even Kerry, could fall
under the spell of the charismatic and level-headed Dean.
Well, I'll stop there. Alta will be glad I'm not posting a link to Crushies for Dean again, although it does seem so appropriate. Oops, there I go again. Sorry, Alta.
Here's the comment from Daily Kos via Value Judgment:
Then there's this interesting rumor from 'MiklCraw4d' from up Massachusetts' way:
I've
had a few friends that have done some work for the Kerry campaign in
Mass., and they both told me that Kerry has developed a bit of a
man-crush on Howard. They don't have any reason to be telling me
stories, as these are people I know well. They say that Kerry gained a
real appreciation of the Dean machine once Howard showed him what it
could do for the Kerry campaign. They point to the appearances he's
done with Howard, and the fundraising Dean has done. They also say if
you look at the body language of the two together at appearances you
can see that the hatchet has been buried.
Anyway,
I thought about posting when I heard this but never got around to it
and it was just speculation anyway. But at least two people who worked
there have said that it's well known that Kerry wants Dean and is kind
of irking his senior staff since they aren't so keen on that. They
point to the pushing back of the announcement date as a result of
Kerry's push to pick Dean.
Well, I
guess it can't be THAT well known if the media aren't reporting
it. Those kinds of things are always accidentally-on purpose
leaked. But, it was fun to read anyway, wasn't it?

Linda,
The thread on DailyKos was too funny! I read the whole darn thing. Sigh. A girl can dream, can't she?
I hope I have enough BFIA buttons for State Convention. (If you don't have buttons, just pepper your speech with enough blogforiowa.com's and you too can drive traffic to our fantastic BFIA!)
