The Pseudo-president’s Prayer

    The Pseudo-president's Prayer

    By Connie Corcoran Wilson

Our Pseudo-president, who art in the White House,

    Devious be thy name.

Thy kingdom come; but it will be done

In November, for it is an election year.

Give us, this day, our daily bread

And some gasoline for our vehicles.

    We need the bread; we need the gas;

But we must not trespass just to profit your ass.

Lead us not into war and destruction,

    But deliver us from evil….

At home, abroad, in Iraq, and in Afghanistan.

We cannot stand by a war-like man.

For thine is (currently) the kingdom,

    And the (grasp for) power,

    And the (lack of) glory

    Forever.

    Surely evil incarnate and unmitigated

Clings to us around the world

    As we follow you

Down one wrong path after another.

God save and help US all!

    Amen!
