Paul Johnson Campaign Hiring

The
Johnson for Congress campaign is now hiring field organizers to work
throughout the 4th Congressional District. Organizers will help build
and support grassroots leadership, create events and get out the word
about the need for new representation in many creative ways. Previous
campaign or issue organizing a big plus. Please send a letter telling
us why you want to work for Paul and a resume to johnf@votejohnson.org.

He Should Be the KING of Hearts

It's in
the cards:  The fast-selling Dean Decks have now been replaced by
a deck featuring the PreDemNom at Democratic campaign events.

In the new deck, Howard Dean appears as the jack of hearts, carrying a little sign that says, “I scream for Kerry.”

Ever endearingly self-effacing, Dean got a kick out of the new
deck.  “I think I went from the ace of spades to the two of
clubs,” said Dean, laughing.

Laugh if you will, Howard.  But as every avid card player knows, even the two of clubs always leads in a game of Hearts.

AP Interviews Iowa Dean Delegate re Delaying Dem Nom

In a
round up on the subject of delaying the Democratic nomination in order
to be more competitive financially, one of our own Iowa national Dean delegates
had this to say about that:

David
Leshtz, a delegate from Iowa City, Iowa, said the nomination part of
the convention amounts to mere ceremony since Kerry secured enough
delegates to win the nomination months ago. He said eliminating it to
get a financial advantage would be fine by him.

“On the surface it appears to be advantageous, and if it's not illegal, why not?” he said.

DFIA Memorial Day Weekend Activism Opportunity

On
Memorial Day weekend, grab a few friends and go see “The Day After
Tomorrow” — the movie the White House doesn't want you to see. At the
theater, meet with other like-minded folks to give out flyers that
explain, in everyday language, what causes global warming, how Bush's
environmental policies could lead us into a real-life climate crisis,
and what we can do together to meet this challenge.  (You might
want to leave the movie just a bit early and catch viewers outside the
theater after they have seen the movie.  That way, your flyers
won't end up on the floor of the theater.)

Go here to sign up to help and to download the flyer:
