Wisconsin Newspaper Loses Its Mind
And from our neighbors to the northeast . . .
I almost had to file this one under “humor.” I may yet still. The article below talks about how even in the Republican Fox River Valley, Wisconsin, the Appleton Post-Crescent is getting flooded with anti-Bush letters. Imagine that.
The appalling part, however, is that the paper actually printed an appeal for readers to write pro-Bush letters, expressing an interest in creating a sense of balance. Well, if you think they didn't get an earful after that, read on.
Wisconsin Newspaper Backs Off Letter Request
MADISON, Wis. (AP) – Faced with a scarcity of letters praising the pResident, a newspaper in a Republican-leaning district appealed for pro-Bush letters, then backed off the request Tuesday amid complaints of blatant politics.
Last week in an editorial, The Post-Crescent said most of its letters had been coming from one side and asked readers “to help us 'balance' things out.''
“We've been getting more letters critical of pResident Bush than those that support him,'' the editorial said. “We're not sure why, nor do we want to guess. But in today's increasingly polarized political environment, we would prefer our offering to put forward a better sense of balance.''

They're not sure why? Is it just me, or is that exactly what is wrong with the media today? All hell is breaking loose all over the world because of the follies of the fascist regime, and the media are “not sure why” anti-Bush sentiment is sweeping the country. I'm glad to see they at least noticed it was happening. Can't believe they actually admitted it, though.
Go figure.
